The terms and conditions related to Arab Bank Credit Cards Rewards Program should be read in conjunction with the Terms and Conditions of Visa Credit Card Issuance and Usage
Unless the context requires otherwise:
-Words denoting one gender shall include all other genders;
-Words denoting the singular shall include the plural and vice versa.
Eligible Cardholders means the Cardholders who are qualified to enroll in the Rewards Program.
Bank means Arab Bank - Jordan and its branches
Points means points or units earned or redeemed (as the case maybe) in relation to the Rewards Programs and in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
Rewards Program Account means the AB Rewards Program account opened and maintained for an Eligible Cardholder and shall form the statement of accounting relation to the Points earned or redeemed by the Cardholder (through the use of the Card) under the Rewards Program.
Rewards means services, merchandise, vouchers, coupons, discounts or any other form of products offered by a Merchant Partner which allows Cardholder to redeem such Cardholder Points in relation to the Rewards offered by such Merchant Partner.
Rewards Program or AB Rewards Program means a program initiated by Arab Bank to allow eligible cardholders to earn points against each POS transaction/EPP then to redeem these points as stated in these terms and conditions.
Rewards Program Partners means the independent third party merchants with whom the Bank has an agreement to provide Cardholders to redeem Points.
2. Rewards Program Eligibility
The Rewards Program is available only for Platinum, Black & Gold Cardholders under the Credit Card Terms and Conditions as solely determined by the Bank from time to time. The Rewards Program is not available for Silver, Together and Co-brand credit cards cardholders (i.e. Royal Jordanian Credit Card, Zain Credit Card or any co-brand credit card issued by the Bank in future). The Bank has the right to amend/ change the eligibility criteria at any time.
3. Participating in the Program
An Eligible Cardholder will be automatically registered for the Rewards Program at the time of completion and submission of the Application Form. Once the Application Form of the Cardholder is accepted in relation to the Card then the Cardholder shall simultaneously be enrolled in the Rewards Program. All current card holders are eligible to participate in the program and with immediate effect.
4. Supplementary cardholders
(a) Supplementary Cardholders will automatically be included in the Rewards Program once the Supplementary Card is issued to the Supplementary Cardholder. Supplementary Cards cannot be enrolled separately from the Primary Card. All current Supplementary card holders are eligible to participate in the program and with immediate effect.
(b) Supplementary Cards can accumulate Reward Points but only the Primary cardholder is able to redeem Reward Points in case supplementary card issued in a share limit.
(c) The Points earned by the Supplementary Cardholder in connection with the use of the Supplementary Card will automatically accrue to the Account in relation to which the Supplementary Card is issued in separate limit.
5. Accrual of Points
(a) The Cardholder enrolled in the Rewards Program will accrue points to their Rewards Program Account with each and every retail purchase transaction charged and billed to the Account through the use of the Card within or outside the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The specific details of the accruals of the points shall be provided to the Cardholder from time to time and are subject to change at the Bank's sole discretion.
In order to earn 1 reward point the cardholder is required to spend as per the following table:
(b) The Cardholder shall only be entitled to earn Reward Points provided:
(i) the Account and the Reward Program Account are active and not closed;
(ii) the Card is not blocked or cancelled in accordance with the Credit Card Terms and Conditions; and
(iii) the Card is not expired or over its specified limit in accordance with the Credit Card Terms and Conditions.
(c) Any amounts credited back to the Credit Card Account (excluding Cardholders excess payment received), and arising from the return of any goods or merchandise, will accordingly reduce the Points accrued in the Cardholders Rewards Program Account by the number of Points earned from the reversed transactions.
6. Transactions not eligible for Reward Point accumulation:
The following transactions are not qualified or eligible for earning or accruing Points in the Reward Program Account:
a) Cash Advance Transactions
b) All fees & Charges ( such as but not limited to ATM Withdrawal Charges, Cash Advance Fees, Late Payment Charges, Annual Membership Fees, Finance Charges, Foreign Exchange, Over Limit Charges, Debit and credit Adjustments, Fees on returned payments.) or any other fees or charges notified by the bank in the Tariff of Charges from time to time.
7. Redemption of Points
(a) The Cardholder shall receive each month a regular update of the Points accumulated in the Cardholder Statement of Account representing the redeemable points. The Cardholder shall be entitled to redeem the voucher(s) provided to the Cardholder by purchasing goods and services offered by the Reward Program Partners. A list of such Reward Program Partners or Merchant Partners and the relevant offers of goods and services to be purchased by the vouchers shall be provided to the Cardholder from time to time.
(b) The Cardholders can only redeem Points after they reach a minimum fixed amount as decided by the Bank from time to time.
(c) The cardholder can redeem the Points by contacting the call center and the Reward voucher has to be collected by customer either at Arab Bank Branch or at the Reward Program partner outlets or any other advised by the bank.
(d) In the event a Reward voucher is lost or stolen, the Cardholder will not be credited back the Points onto the Rewards Program Account and no new voucher will be issued.
(e) The Cardholder will not be eligible for redemption of the Points if the cardholder becomes delinquent or if the cardholder is in breach of its obligations of the Credit Card Terms and Conditions as well as these AB Rewards Terms and Conditions.
(f) The customer should present AB Credit Card and Personal ID at reward collection point to collect the Reward.
8. Cancellation of Card and Transfer of Points
(a) Subject to these AB Rewards Terms and Conditions, if a Cardholder voluntarily cancels the Card, then the unused Points in the Reward Program Account shall be forfeited immediately and the Cardholder shall have no recourse to the Rewards Program or any benefits related thereto. If the Cardholder subsequently reinstates the Card Account the unused Points in relation to the cancelled Card will still remain forfeited from the date of voluntary cancellation.
(b) If a Cardholder who has more than one AB Rewards Card and voluntarily cancels any such Card, then the Cardholder shall be entitled to transfer unused Points in the Rewards Program Account linked to the cancelled Card to the other AB Rewards Card held by the Cardholder.
(c) In case of card upgrade or downgrade, cardholder shall be entitled to transfer the unused points in the rewards program account (linked to the cancelled card) to the new card rewards program account.
(d)The transfer of unused Points as outlined in 8 (b & c) above is subject always to such terms and conditions as Bank may impose at its sole discretion, including (without limitation) adjustment to the number of Points to reflect differences between the programs concerned.
9. Points Expiry
(a) Points earned and not redeemed will expire after 36 months from the month it was earned in.
(a) All Rewards are subject to availability. Rewards may only be available during the time periods as notified to the Cardholder from time to time.
(b) The Cardholder shall be entitled to redeem the Rewards provided to the Cardholder by purchasing goods and services offered by the Reward Program Partners or Merchant Partners in exchange of the Points earned by the Cardholder under the Rewards Program. A list of such Reward Program Partners or Merchant Partners and the relevant offers of goods and services (to be purchased by the Points) shall be made available on Arab Bank Website.
(c) The terms and conditions in relation to Rewards Program Partners shall be made available to the Cardholder and will be applicable in addition to the AB Rewards Terms and Conditions.
(d) The Reward Program Partners participating in the Rewards Program are subject to change and shall be notified to the Cardholders from time to time.
(e) The Rewards redeemed are not refundable, exchangeable, replaceable, and transferable for cash, credit other Rewards, or Points under any circumstances.
(f) By redeeming Rewards, the Cardholder releases the bank and its parent, subsidiaries, and affiliates from any and all liability regarding the redemption or use of Rewards, or other participation in the Rewards Program.
(g) The Rewards must be redeemed in accordance with the AB Rewards Terms and Conditions and the specific terms and conditions for such Rewards will be made available to the Cardholder from time to time.
(h) The Bank reserves the right to modify or cancel any Reward at any time without prior notice to the Cardholder.
(i) In relation to any Rewards relating to holiday or vacation services (e.g. hotel stay), any additional travel or accommodation arrangements made in connection with such Rewards shall be the sole responsibility of the Cardholder.
(j) The Rewards may not be combined with any other promotional offers from the Bank or participating Reward Program Partners.
(k) Rewards are valid at participating Reward Program Partners only, until the expiry date printed on the front of such Reward.
(I) Original Rewards must be surrendered at redemption, and no photocopies of Rewards will be honored by the Reward Program Partners.
(m) Fulfillment of the Rewards is the sole responsibility of the participating Reward Program Partners and the Bank shall not be liable for any rejection or non compliance by Reward Program Partners in relation to the redemption of Rewards.
(n) The Rewards are not valid towards previous purchases, and cannot be used as payment on existing account balances with the participating Reward Program Partners or repayment of credit card Account.
(o) Any disputes or claims in connection with obtaining the products and services purchased through the Rewards should be addressed directly between the Cardholder and the Reward Program Partners.
(q) Any promotional offers (i.e. additional points, bonus point’s accumulation or limited period rewards) will be in accordance with the AB Rewards Terms and Conditions. Such promotional offers may also have additional Terms and Conditions and shall be notified to Cardholders from time to time.
Merchant Specific Terms & Conditions
The customer can approach Arab bank Mecca Mall branch for reward collection / redemption after 48 hours of confirmation from Arab Bank Call Center. Customer will need to provide ID proof as well as Arab Bank credit card in order to complete redemption process. The customer should collect his voucher from Arab Bank Mecca Mall branch within 30 days of his request to Arab Bank Call Centre and should redeem the voucher with any of City Mall outlet (except Carrefour) within 60 days from collecting City Mall voucher. If the reward is not redeemed within the specified time period, the reward shall expire and the Reward points used to redeem the expired Reward will not be reversed into the Rewards Program Account.
The customer can approach Arab bank Mecca Mall branch for reward collection / redemption after 48 hours of confirmation from Arab Bank Call Center. Customer will need to provide ID proof as well as Arab Bank credit card in order to complete redemption process. Validity date will be printed on the reward voucher. The reward is subject to Marriott’s Terms & conditions printed on reverse of every Reward Voucher. If the reward is not redeemed within the specified time period, the reward shall expire and the Reward points used to redeem the expired Reward will not be reversed into the Rewards Program Account.
Manaseer, ATICO, MILES Supermarket and EMART
The customer can approach Arab bank Mecca Mall branch for reward collection / redemption after 48 hours of confirmation from Arab Bank Call Center. Customer will need to provide ID proof as well as Arab Bank credit card in order to complete redemption process. The customer should collect his voucher from Arab Bank Mecca Mall branch within 30 days of his redemption request to Arab Bank Call Center and should redeem the vouchers with merchant within 60 days of vouchers collection from Arab Bank branch. If the reward is not redeemed within the specified time period, the reward shall expire and the Reward points used to redeem the expired Reward will not be reversed into the Rewards Program Account.
(a) The Points accrued in the Rewards Program Account do not constitute the property of the Cardholder and are not transferable by operation of law or otherwise to any person or entity and cannot be transferred to any other Rewards Program Account.
(b) The Points accrued in the Rewards Program Account have no cash or monetary value and cannot be exchanged with cash.
(c) The Bank reserves the right to terminate the Rewards Program at anytime and upon such termination any Points earned by the Cardholder shall immediately expire.
(d) If the Bank determines any fraud or other abuse relating to the accrual of Points by a Cardholder, then such Points fraudulently earned by the Cardholder shall be forfeited as well the Cardholder’s membership may be cancelled.
(e) The Bank's failure to enforce any provisions of the AB Rewards Terms and Conditions does not constitute a waiver of such provision by the Bank.
(f) All disputes or discrepancies regarding eligibility for the Rewards Program or the accrual or redemption of Points shall be resolved by the Bank at its sole discretion.
(g) The Bank shall not be held liable for any damage or loss incurred by the Cardholder from the redemption of Points or on purchase of any goods or services through the Rewards Program and the bank shall not represent or warrant in relation to the quality of such goods or services and such recourse shall be directly against the Reward Program Partners.
(h) By redeeming Rewards points at any time the Cardholder agrees to be bound by the Terms & Conditions of the Rewards scheme and its usage.
(i) Arab Bank reserves the right to amend or change any of these terms and conditions at any time.
