How can I open an account with the Arab Bank? Do I need to fill out application forms or can I do that through the Internet?

You can open an account at any of the Arab Bank branches throughout the world and whose addresses are available on our global website. Contact the required branch to furnish you with the information, application forms and the required documents applicable at each location. It is not possible to open an account at the relevant branch through the Internet.

I have an account with the Arab Bank. Can I inquire and obtain any information about this account through the Internet?

You may inquire about your account and obtain many other services through the Internet by free subscribing to the Direct-On-Line Banking Service offered to Arab Bank customers. By using a PIN number and user ID code designated to each customer upon registration, this service enables you to inquire not only your balance but also about movements in any of your accounts, request checkbooks, request details on movements of deposits and loans, make internal transfers between your accounts, make transfers within the Arab Bank branches or , bill payment and change your address.

What is the best way to transfer funds to my account with the Arab Bank in Palestine?

You may transfer funds to your Arab Bank account in Palestine by requesting your bank to make the transfer through the Arab Bank branch located in your area, or directly to the "Central Transfer Unit of the Arab Bank-Palestine (ARABPS22XXX)". You should indicate your full name, account number and name of your branch.

How can I transfer funds to my account with the Arab Bank in Jordan? How long such a transfer takes and how much would it cost me?

You can transfer funds to your account with Arab Bank in Jordan by contacting and informing your local bank of your desire to execute the transfer through the Arab Bank branch in the same area (if available), or execute the transfer directly to the "Central Transfers Unit of the Arab Bank-Jordan (ARABJOAX100)". You should indicate your full name, account number and name of your branch. The transfer amount will be deposited in your account on the same day of receipt or in accordance with the regulations of the bank that executed the transfer. Costs of transfers are subject to local laws and regulations.

Do I always have to use my Personal Identification Number (PIN)?

The PIN is used at ATMs. It may be required on POS in some countries.

Can I change my PIN?

You can change your Visa Electron PIN at any Arab Bank ATM. As for your Classic/ Gold cards, you should inform your branch, in order to issue a new PIN.

How can I obtain a Visa Card?

The Arab Bank offers its customers the Visa Card Service (Gold / Classic and Electron). Please refer to your branch or Call Center, which will provide you with the relevant terms and conditions.

How can I use the Arab Bank Visa Electron card?

Visa Electron card is used to pay for purchases and services at merchants/ service centres equipped with POS devices carrying the Electron logo worldwide, by direct debit to your account. It is also used to withdraw cash and inquire about the card balance on ATMs holding the Visa logo worldwide. Full range of Arab Bank ATM services in the country of issuance are offered to Visa Electron cardholders.

Are there any commissions for using the card?

No commission is charged if the card is used locally. If the card is used internationally, F.X commission of 2-3% is charged, as assigned for each area. Cash advance fees are charged if the card (Gold/ Classic) is used to withdraw cash.

What is the difference between Electron card and the Visa Classic and Gold cards?

Visa Electron card is issued free of charge, and is used to withdraw cash or pay for the purchases up to the available balance of the account. The customer’s account shall be debited directly with all transactions. The card is subject to the daily limits assigned for each area. Charge cards provide the customers with a monthly limit which is renewed at the beginning of each card cycle. This means the customer can use the full limit of the card each month. The total amount of the card’s transactions shall be debited to the customer’s account at the end of the card cycle. Credit cards are issued with a certain limit. However, payments are made in installments.

What shall I do if my card is lost or stolen?

Notify your branch immediately. If your Visa card (Gold or Classic) is lost or stolen, you can inform alternatively Arab Bank Visa Centre which provides its services 24 hours/ 7 days a week on +973 17 29 10 29, (collect if available in the country you are calling from).Inside Jordan you can contact Arab Bank Call Centre on (4600900), to report the loss/theft of your Visa card. Protect your card as if it were cash. Do not write down your PIN, memorize it.

I pressed the Online Banking icon the error message "This page cannot be displayed" appears.

  1. Open Internet Explorer and select from the "Tools" menu the "Internet Options" option.
  2. In the dialogue box that appears, select the "Advanced" tab found at the top.
  3. Go down in the list until you find the Security section.
  4. Make sure that the following options are both checked: -    "Use SSL 2.0" -    "Use SSL 3.0"
  5. Then press the button "OK".
  6. Close the browser.

Netscape Navigator

  1. Select the Communicator menu.
  2. Select Tools.
  3. Select Security Info.
  4. In the dialogue box that appears, under Security Info, select Navigator.
  5. Under "Advanced Security (SSL) Configuration".
  6. Make sure that the check boxes are both checked.
  7. Click the button "Configure SSL v2".
  8. Check all of the choices.
  9. Click the button "Configure SSL v3".
  10. Check all of the choices other than "No encryption with an MD5 MAC".
When you enter a password or a Token-generated password, you are logged out automatically.

Five consecutive wrong password entries while you are confirming your transaction will cause the service to exit and return to the Login screen.

The browser stops at the page "Checking if installation is up to date" or the new window appears and "Dear Customer Please wait while the Online Banking special software is being loaded" and the login screen does not appear.

The new window appears but the text does not show meaningful text ">unknown text<".

I received the PIN mailer and the Branch has activated my account but I get a message 'Invalid login'.
  1. The password consists of numbers only while the User-ID is case-sensitive.
  2. They must be entered as they appear on the PIN mailer.
  3. Pay attention to '1' and 'l' or '0' and 'O' (for the User-ID).

You could have forgot your password and you need to get a new PIN mailer from your branch.

When I try to log in a message appears "Your account is inactive?".

Your account is not activated yet. You need to contact your branch to activate your account or call our Customer Contact Center.

When I try to log in a message appears "Your account is locked ".

Your account was locked as a combination of your user-ID and a wrong password were entered five consecutive times.

I am unable to get the login screen even though the SSL options are activated, and I am using a proxy.

Microsoft Internet Explorer

  1. Open Internet Explorer and select from the 'Tools' menu the 'Internet Options' option.
  2. In the dialogue box that appears, select the 'Connections' tab found at the top.
  3. Click the 'LAN Settings...' button.
  4. In the secured connection fields, make sure you have the proxy and port set correctly. Or, alternately, if you are using the same proxy configuration for all type of connection, you may check the option 'Use the same proxy server for all protocols'.


Netscape Navigator

  1. Open Netscape and select from the 'Edit' menu the 'Preferences' option.
  2. In the box that appears, under 'Category', click the plus sign next to 'Advanced', 'Cache', 'Proxies' and 'SmartUpdate' appear.
  3. Select 'Proxies'.
  4. Click the button 'View'.
  5. In the Secured Connection fields, make sure that you have the proxy and port set correctly.
I click "Login" on the website, the new window appears and "Please wait .." appears but the login screen does not appear.

I logged in for the first time, I change password and User-ID, but I still at the same screen.

The user-ID and password(s) must each be six to ten character long. The password must contain at least one special character   (! $ % & ' ( ) * + , - . / @ : = ?) and at least one alphanumeric. Also, if the user has a second password, then the login password and second password cannot be identical!

After successful change of your password(s) & User ID the system would lead you to view your 'Balance Summary', then the User-ID & password (s) has changed and you have to use the new to login again.

When you start to use the service, a page appears displaying a message "Incompatibilities Detected".

Please make sure that your screen resolution is 800 X 600 or above: 

  1. From the 'Start' menu, select 'Settings' then 'Control Panel'. 
  2. Double click the 'Display' icon.
  3. In the Display Properties box select the settings tab.
  4. Select the Desktop Area (or Screen Area) to be 800*600 pixels or more

How can I Apply for the Service?
  • The customer either visit the branch to sign the agreement and select the services. 
  • Apply via Arab Bank website and visit the branch to sign the agreement.
  • Through our Customer Contact Center to issue the service and visit the branch to sign the agreement.
  • For customers living abroad, contact branch to ask about non-residence customer producers.
I am unable to make any transfer.

Make sure that you do not exceed your daily transfer limit, which is defined in the help page 'Daily Transfer Limit'. Use the 'Currency Calculator' to estimate the amount in your local currency. Also, note that the daily transfer limit applies to all the Internal and External transfers made each 24 hours.

I opened a new sub account for a main account subscribed to the Internet Online Banking service. When I log in, I cannot see this account in the Balance Summary service.
  1. Log in to the service. 
  2. Select "MY ACCOUNTS". 
  3. Select "Manage My Accounts". 
  4. Under the "Other Accounts" list, select the sub account. Press "Add" button, the sub account should be displayed under "On-Line Banking Accounts". 
  5. Press the "ACCEPT" button.
The applet takes a lot of time to get downloaded.

  1. Select Internet Options from Tools menu. 
  2. Select Settings from Temporary Internet Files. 
  3. Select View Objects. 
  4. Select Arab Bank Online Banking Service. 
  5. Select Delete from File menu. 
  6. Re-login to the service.
The login screen appears but after I log in the screen seems incomplete.

What does Arab Bank offer to counteract all Internet Security Risks?
  • High encryption technique to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of the information transmitted between the Bank and the Customer.
  • Specialized security equipment to secure-up to our knowledge - that intruders cannot access / use the Online Banking equipment.
  • Wrong entry of the User ID / Password repeatedly would entail the temporary suspension of the service, where the customer would have to refer to his branch to activate the service.
  • While using the service, if a predefined time elapses without any activity, the customer will be disconnected automatically.
  • The customer can always check his activity log to view the transactions, which he has requested previously.
  • Request for financial/ sensitive transaction requires a password to confirm.
  • The customer is forced to change his User-ID and password on first access to the service.
  • Upon login, the service displays the customer's last access to the service.
In "Manage Beneficiary", an arrow pointing to the Account Number and message " To process request please fill in or select the marked fields."

For a local account in Arab Bank, six digits - basic account number (including the leading zeros, excluding check digit) and three digits - account type respectively in the corresponding fields.

When I am trying to download the special software, I get a "Security Warning" dialog box, I press "Yes", but still I cannot get the software downloaded.

When the "Security Warning" dialog box appears, check the "Always trust content from Arab Bank" checkbox, then press "Yes".

Note: This dialog box appears twice, follow the same procedure for both boxes.

I use the service quite often, but each time I log in to the service it takes 2-3 minutes to display the “Login” screen.

There is a problem with the Windows98 first release. You may update to Windows second release, WindowsNT, or any other supported operating system.

I am trying to login, but the system keeps emptying the User-ID and password fields without any error messages.

What are the requirements to Access the Service?

  • A User-ID and Password for personal Services.
  • Or User-ID, Password and Token for personal and Third Party Payment Services.
What is a Token?

The Token is an electronic device with a numeric keypad and display panel operated with a PIN.

The Token generates randomly passwords using time as one of the factors, the password is used to confirm financial / sensitive transactions.

The generated password is valid for less than a minute; therefore the customer need not worry about the secrecy of the generated password.

Hala Arabi

How can I obtain the Hala Arabi service? How much would it cost me?

Hala Arabi services are offered around the clock and free of charge to our customers when an account is opened or at any other time henceforth. This service allows customers to inquire about their account balances, their last ten movements, request checkbooks or statements of accounts or Bills Payments and to transfer money between accounts in the local Arab Bank branches. You can obtain this service free-of-charge by submitting a subscription application to your branch or by Contact Center.
